2015-16 ANNUAL SUPPORT
I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEATRE AT CRT!
I was introduced to Connecticut Repertory Theatre when I was 9 years old. Seeing Seussical the Musical onstage inspired me to begin acting. Afterwards, I bumped into the star of the show, Steve Hayes, while I was getting ice cream at the Dairy Bar. I talked with him about my favorite parts of the show. I never dreamed that by the time I was 12 years old, I would be performing on that very stage, in front of you, as a part of CRT.
Performing alongside Broadway’s Terrence Mann in Peter Pan was a life changing experience. At first it was intimidating rehearsing with incredible talents from Broadway and from around the country. The performers are so gifted and work so hard to bring you their best. But I just kept thinking happy thoughts – and then there I was – flying! And you were cheering!
Your laughter and applause filled us all with such joy and confidence. I hope your experiences at CRT have been as highflying, in their own way, as mine have been. CRT is a special place for our community, offering all kinds of plays for people from 10 years old to 110 years old. Thank you for supporting us artists – and supporting live theatre in our backyard.
Ticket sales revenue covers less than half of what it costs to operate Connecticut Repertory Theatre, which is why donated support from people in our audience is so important.
Please make a tax-deductible donation to the Patron Fund.
Won’t you help me to sustain great theatre here at Connecticut Repertory Theatre?
PS: A couple of weeks ago I got to see Terrence Mann play Captain Hook in the musical Finding Neverland on Broadway. I got to tour the stage and we talked about what fun we had at CRT. He sends everyone his very best!
PPS: One more thing, you can see me as the Turkey Boy in A Christmas Carol at Hartford Stage this holiday season. I am not sure if I’m starting a career, but thanks to CRT I feel like I’m still flying!
